Awards and Honors
Kevin Chilton was inducted into the United States Astronaut Hall of Fame on May 5th, 2012 in a ceremony that took place at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
Among Chilton's numerous awards are the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal (2), Defense Superior Service Medal (3), Legion of Merit (2), Distinguished Flying Cross, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), Air Force Commendation Medal, NASA Exceptional Service Medal, NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal, and the NASA Space Flight Medal (3). He is also a recipient of NASA’s "Top Fox" Flight Safety Award.
