Boundaries
Kettering constituency is a semi-rural constituency, predominantly based around the towns of Kettering, Desborough, Rothwell and Burton Latimer within the borough of Kettering (all of which is in the constituency) but, additionally, includes wide tracts of rural land.
Politically, it comprises the borough of Kettering and some eastern wards of the district of Daventry; the predominant parts of which being based around the large villages of Brixworth and Moulton.
Economically, it is predominantly middle-class. Industry continues in some areas, most notably at the Weetabix factory in Burton Latimer, but the industrial activity of the area, as with the rest of the county, is much reduced.
The constituency included the Labour-voting industrial town of Corby until 1983, when it gained its own constituency.

Famous quotes containing the word boundaries:
“Not too many years ago, a childs experience was limited by how far he or she could ride a bicycle or by the physical boundaries that parents set. Today ... the real boundaries of a childs life are set more by the number of available cable channels and videotapes, by the simulated reality of videogames, by the number of megabytes of memory in the home computer. Now kids can go anywhere, as long as they stay inside the electronic bubble.”
—Richard Louv (20th century)
“Whereas the Greeks gave to will the boundaries of reason, we have come to put the wills impulse in the very center of reason, which has, as a result, become deadly.”
—Albert Camus (19131960)
“It is the story-tellers task to elicit sympathy and a measure of understanding for those who lie outside the boundaries of State approval.”
—Graham Greene (19041991)
