KDU University College - History

History

KDU was founded in 1983 on the original campus in Damansara Jaya. Since then, two more campuses have been opened: Section 13 near the Damansara campus and Penang. A fourth campus is to be completed in Glenmarie near Klang.

In 2010, KDU College was upgraded to a university college status by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. The launch on 4 November was officiated by the Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin In January 2011, Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dr. Khoo Kay Kim was appointed the institution's Chancellor.

On 23 August 2011, KDU University College launched its own degree programmes, featuring business, business law, computing, engineering, communication, culinary management and hospitality management.
