Kazuma Station - Surrounding Area

Surrounding Area

The surrounding area is all farmland with the exception of Makabe hospital which was the original reason the station was opened. At one point the area was supposed to be up for new development; however, as the local populace managed to cling to life longer than expected, the area has remained farmland to this day. Consequently, the majority of traffic for this station is mainly destined for the local Makabe hospital, still in operation to this day.

Famous quotes containing the words surrounding and/or area:

Every winter the liquid and trembling surface of the pond, which was so sensitive to every breath, and reflected every light and shadow, becomes solid to the depth of a foot or a foot and a half, so that it will support the heaviest teams, and perchance the snow covers it to an equal depth, and it is not to be distinguished from any level field. Like the marmots in the surrounding hills, it closes its eyelids and becomes dormant for three months or more.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The area [of toilet training] is one where a child really does possess the power to defy. Strong pressure leads to a powerful struggle. The issue then is not toilet training but who holds the reins—mother or child? And the child has most of the ammunition!
    Dorothy Corkville Briggs (20th century)
