Affiliated Colleges
All colleges in the districts of Dharwad including Dharwar city colleges, Belgaum, Bijapur District, Bagalkot, Gadag, Haveri and Uttar Kannada belong to Karnatak University, Dharwad.
Karnatak University's five colleges in Dharwad area are referred as constituent colleges. Administration is in the hands of Karnatak University. However, the affiliated colleges are managed by trusts. Examinations, textbooks and results are conducted by the university.
Before the advent of private universities in this part of India, all colleges in the districts of Dharwad, Belgaum, Bijapur District, Bagalkot, Gadag, Haveri and Uttar Kannada were affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad.
