Karim lives in 4 cities and is working in 42 countries. He resides in New York, Belgrade, Miami, and Mexico and in hotels globally. He has offices in Manhattan and Amsterdam. Karim has been married twice. He married Serbian chemical engineer Ivana Purić, on September 1, 2008 in New York City and Belgrade. He was married to Painter Megan Lang, 1995 to 2005. Karim does not have any children. He is the brother of architect Hani Rashid and has a sister musician / painter Soraya Rashid. Karim is renowned for wearing pink and white and his interesting designed glasses fro Alain Mikli and Sceye Sweden. He is also well known as an inspiring and provocative global lecturer. Time magazine called him the "Most Famous Industrial Designer in All the Americas".
