Kanata Elementary is a public elementary school in Prince Rupert, British Columbia part of School District 52 Prince Rupert.
The school's name is an Iroquoian word which Canada's name is believed to originate from.
Although the school's mailing address is on Ottawa Avenue, the part of the road on which the school was meant to be located was never built, and the school cannot be reached from Ottawa Ave. Actual access to the school is via Applewhite Drive.
This School Was one of the First schools built built in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, and was recently closed down in June 2008, due to safety issues.
