Political Career
He lost once in 1983 assembly elections.He was elected as a MLA in 1985 from Telugu Desam Party.He served as the cabinet minister. He was a member of the Telugu Desam Party and served as Deputy Speaker until he resigned from the party as TDP did not respect the sentiments of the telangana people. He claimed that the politicians of this region are being suppressed. He is of opinion that bifurcation is the only solution for telangana people.
