Kahului Airport - Authority

Authority

Kahului Airport is part of a centralized state structure governing all of the airports and seaports of Hawai'i. The official authority of Kahului Airport is the Governor of Hawai'i. The Governor appoints the Director of the Hawai'i State Department of Transportation, who has jurisdiction over the Hawai'i Airports Administrator.

The Hawai'i Airports Administrator oversees six governing bodies: Airports Operations Office, Airports Planning Office, Engineering Branch, Information Technology Office, Staff Services Office, Visitor Information Program Office. Collectively, the six bodies have authority over the four airport districts in Hawai'i: Hawai'i District, Kaua'i District, Mau'i District and the principal O'ahu District. Kahului Airport is a subordinate of Mau'i District officials.

Famous quotes containing the word authority:

For words are wise men’s counters, they do but reckon by them; but they are the money of fools, that value them by the authority of an Aristotle, a Cicero, or a Thomas, or any other doctor whatsoever, if but a man.
    Thomas Hobbes (1579–1688)

And truly Philosophy is but sophisticated poetry. Whence do those ancient writers derive all their authority but from the poets?
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

I repeat that in this sense the most splendid court in Christendom is provincial, having authority to consult about Transalpine interests only, and not the affairs of Rome. A prætor or proconsul would suffice to settle the questions which absorb the attention of the English Parliament and the American Congress.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
