Oneness holds annual Power of Oneness awards, recognizing individuals who have fostered meaningful change in the area of race relations. 2002 winners included Edward James Olmos, Nancy Miller, Nile Rodgers, Jonathan Butler, Leila Steinberg, and Joy Enriquez. In 2003 winners included Michael Jackson, Ed Begley, Jr., The Jim Henson Company, Dr. Joy DeGruy and Brad Gluckstein for their contributions to Racial Harmony. The annual Songwriters' Summit for Oneness, typically held in Los Angeles, features the teaming of over 50 producer/songwriters at a one day event to create songs of social justice, racial unity and change.

Famous quotes containing the word interests:

As to the permanent interest of individuals in the aggregated interests of the community, and in the proverbial maxim, that honesty is the best policy, present temptation is often found to be an overmatch for those considerations.
    James Madison (1751–1836)

Imagination is always the fabric of social life and the dynamic of history. The influence of real needs and compulsions, of real interests and materials, is indirect because the crowd is never conscious of it.
    Simone Weil (1909–1943)
