Song Information
Within minutes of the Super Bowl halftime show incident, Jackson's label Virgin released a statement officially announcing that "Just a Little While" would be released to radio on February 2, 2004 (the next morning). Jackson said that the song leaked in Europe and she and Virgin had to rush with a video and promotion after the song made it worldwide. This was Jackson's first solo single to miss the top forty since her 1984 album Dream Street. The song received positive reception, but due to the 2004 Super Bowl controversy, it was a commercial disappointment, peaking at number forty-five in the United States, and lacked in urban radio airplay. There is also an original R&B-oriented dance demo version of "Just a Little While" produced by Just Blaze, called "Love Me", which leaked to the Internet in 2008.

Famous quotes containing the words song and/or information:
“They seldom looked happy. They passed one another without a word in the elevator, like silent shades in hell, hell-bent on their next look from a handsome stranger. Their next rush from a popper. The next song that turned their bones to jelly and left them all on the dance floor with heads back, eyes nearly closed, in the ecstasy of saints receiving the stigmata.”
—Andrew Holleran (b. 1943)
“We hear a great deal of lamentation these days about writers having all taken themselves to the colleges and universities where they live decorously instead of going out and getting firsthand information about life. The fact is that anybody who has survived his childhood has enough information about life to last him the rest of his days.”
—Flannery OConnor (19251964)
