Julio Linares

Dr. Julio E. Linares (1930-1993) was a jurist, politician and historian. Born in Panama City he died in New York.

He studied completed graduate and post-graduate studies at the University of Panama, graduating in Law and Political Sciences, before gaining a Doctoral Law Degree from the University of Madrid and a Diploma in Law and International Politics from the International University of Social Studies in Rome (Italy).

He held the position of Professor of International Public Law at the University of Panama for fifteen years, as well as serving as a member of the Panamanian National Assembly (1962-1963), Minister of the Treasury (1963-1964) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (1989-1993). He was a member of the International Law Association and of the American Society of International Law.
