Biography

In 1989, Clayden was living as an artist in France and selling paintings, when his brother, bassist/programmer Mark Clayden formed Pitchshifter (then called Pitch Shifter) and wrote an album. He asked JS to join the band, and he went back to England where he provided backing vocals to the band's first release, Industrial. After the release of Industrial, he stepped up as the band vocalist, and released the band's second album/EP Submit.

More recently, he emigrated to the United States, where he founded PSI Records, an independent label that provides music for various movies, TV shows and commercials. He also works in the Los Angeles Recording School working in the Career Development Department.

In September 2011 he was recognized as Alumni of the Month at Middlesex University due to his "hard work and success cemented by his MA at Middlesex University".
