2007 Onwards

Joni was awarded 'Le Prix du Merite Artistique 2007' at the LDF awards ceremony in Lausanne in April 2007. She was also awarded the 'Besso Memorial Prize for Pianoforte 2007' by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Joni performed at the Olympic Stadium in Lausanne during Athletissima 2007. She also performed at the World Conference on Giftedness in August. Other 2007 performances include the Launch of the Themba Trust at the South African High Commission in London and a TV appearance on the Swiss Telethon 2007.

In 2008, Joni concentrated on live performances in the UK. She received a standing ovation following her performance at the Montrose Music Festival and in August 2008, was chosen by the Performing Rights Society to front a media campaign to highlight the importance of performance royalties in supporting young songwriters.

In October 2008, Joni's song 'America' was chosen by a panel of judges that included Chris Martin (Coldplay) as a winner in the 'Make it Break it Songwriting Contest'. Joni's performance at the awards ceremony caught the attention of LIPA student Harry Andrew Brown which led to Joni recording a 6-track EP ('Run for Cover') with Harry. The EP was released at the Montrose Music Festival in May 2009.

In August 2009, Joni's song 'Change Girl' was judged as a winner in the Make it Break it Songwriting Contest 2009. Joni was later featured in The Independent newspaper as an 'inspirational teenager'.

In 2010 Joni was awarded 'Best Female Artist' at the Exposure Music Awards and later featured as 'one to watch' by PRS for Music in their on-line magazine 'M'.

2011 saw Joni continue to develop her live shows with performances in London (Ronnie Scott's, The Bedford, The Elgin) and a return to Athletissima in Lausanne, alongside headline performances at Mo-Fest and the Arundel Festival.
