Personal Life

Bornstein is Jewish. His father is Jewish, and his father's Jewish ancestors came from Romania. His mother is Mexican and from a Catholic background. It's still a soul-searching kind of thing, trying to figure out exactly where you come from or which heritage you relate to. I still kind of feel lost even to this day, but it's something that I just deal with, and it makes me a stronger person having both of those heritages." Bornstein played in the 2005 Maccabiah Games, in Israel, representing the U.S. in football, which won silver. Jonathan is engaged to fashion designer Elizabeth Reyna, from Flatonia, Texas. Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:

Close friends contribute to our personal growth. They also contribute to our personal pleasure, making the music sound sweeter, the wine taste richer, the laughter ring louder because they are there.
    Judith Viorst (20th century)

For my part, I would rather look toward Rutland than Jerusalem. Rutland,—modern town,—land of ruts,—trivial and worn,—not too sacred,—with no holy sepulchre, but profane green fields and dusty roads, and opportunity to live as holy a life as you can, where the sacredness, if there is any, is all in yourself and not in the place.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
