Jon Wolfsthal

Jon Wolfsthal, an expert on nuclear proliferation, who is currently the Deputy Director at the James C. Martin Center for nonproliferation Studies at the Monterey Institute for International Studies. He served from 2009-2012 as a special advisor for Nonproliferation and Nuclear Security and Director for Nonproliferation, National Security Council to the office of the Vice President of the United States at the White House. He left the Center for Strategic and International Studies in March 2009 where he had been a CSIS senior fellow. He was previously the deputy director for Non-Proliferation at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He also teaches at Georgetown University. He served at the U.S. Department of Energy during the 1990s.
