Famous quotes containing the words john, snow and/or college:
“Oh for some honest lovers ghost,
Some kind unbodied post
Sent from the shades below!
I strangely long to know
Whether the nobler chaplets wear
Those that their mistress scorn did bear,
Or those that were used kindly.”
—Sir John Suckling (16091642)
“Nature has no mercy at all. Nature says, Im going to snow. If you have on a bikini and no snowshoes, thats tough. I am going to snow anyway.”
—Maya Angelou (b. 1928)
“In looking back over the college careers of those who for various reasons have been prominent in undergraduate life ... one cannot help noticing that these men have nearly always shown from the start an interest in the lives of their fellow students. A large acquaintance means that many persons are dependent on a man and conversely that he himself is dependent on many. Success necessarily means larger responsibilities, and responsibilities mean many friends.”
—Franklin D. Roosevelt (18821945)
