"Freedom's Heroes"
In May 1892, six years after John Rankin's death, a monument aptly named "Freedom's Heroes,", was dedicated to Rankin and his wife, Jean Lowry Rankin, on the grounds of the Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio.
