John Mac Hale - Memorials

Memorials

He died after a short illness at Tuam on 7 November 1881, and was interred before the high altar in Tuam Cathedral. A marble statue perpetuates his memory in the Cathedral grounds. McHale Park in Castlebar, County Mayo and Archbishop McHale College in Tuam are named for him.
