John Henry Holland (born 2 February 1929) is an American scientist and Professor of psychology and Professor of electrical engineering and computer science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is a pioneer in would became known as genetic algorithms. He received the 1961 Louis E. Levy Medal from The Franklin Institute.
