Hemming took out a mortgage of £200,000 on a flat in London under the Second Home Allowance. It was claimed by the Daily Mail that the loan was used to pay off another loan on one of his business premises.


John Hemming claimed over £4000 in expenses on food alone in 2009. However, it is important to consider all of the costs together. John Hemming normally travels Standard Class on the train which is why his travel costs are lower, but he then cannot get free food on the train. Hence his food costs are higher.
