Brigadier General Sir John Edmond Gough VC, KCB, CMG (/ˈɡɒf/; 25 October 1871 – 22 February 1915), known as Johnnie Gough, was born in Muree, India and was a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
