Playing Career
Before joining the Penrith club, Clinton played for the Parramatta Eels. Rising to prominence in in the Panthers' successful 2003 season, he helped the Panthers come from last place in 2001 to become Minor Premiers and eventual premiers in 2003. That year Clinton was rewarded for his form with test selection for Australia, describing the experience as "a great personal bonus but it did not compare to winning the premiership with the guys you train and play with all year long."
Clinton's good form continued into 2004 and he was selected in the Australian team that took on the Kiwis in the annual ANZAC Test.

Famous quotes containing the words playing and/or career:
“Sometimes, because of its immediacy, television produces a kind of electronic parable. Berlin, for instance, on the day the Wall was opened. Rostropovich was playing his cello by the Wall that no longer cast a shadow, and a million East Berliners were thronging to the West to shop with an allowance given them by West German banks! At that moment the whole world saw how materialism had lost its awesome historic power and become a shopping list.”
—John Berger (b. 1926)
“A black boxers career is the perfect metaphor for the career of a black male. Every day is like being in the gym, sparring with impersonal opponents as one faces the rudeness and hostility that a black male must confront in the United States, where he is the object of both fear and fascination.”
—Ishmael Reed (b. 1938)
