Joan Capdevila

Joan Capdevila i Méndez (born 3 February 1978) is a Spanish footballer who plays for RCD Espanyol. His usual position is left defender, but he is also capable of operating as a winger and, from a defensive position, often contributes with goals.

Over the course of 13 La Liga seasons, he amassed totals of 379 appearances and 36 goals, namely for Deportivo and Villarreal.

A Spanish international on more than 60 occasions, Capdevila represented the nation in one World Cup and two European Championships, winning one tournament in each competition.
