High School Career

Finn was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and grew up in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, and attended Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey where he starred in both football and wrestling. An All-State pick in both sports, he was the 189-pound class state champion and posted a 33-2 record as a senior. Because no Division I-A recruiters were seeking him, Finn sought a Division I-AA program and committed with the University of Pennsylvania.

Famous quotes containing the words high, school and/or career:

    The secret of genius is to suffer no fiction to exist for us; to realize all that we know; in the high refinement of modern life, in arts, in sciences, in books, in men, to exact good faith, reality, and a purpose; and first, last, midst, and without end, to honor every truth by use.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

    Their school a crowd, his master solitude;
    Through Jonathan Swift’s dark grove he passed, and there
    Plucked bitter wisdom that enriched his blood.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

    I doubt that I would have taken so many leaps in my own writing or been as clear about my feminist and political commitments if I had not been anointed as early as I was. Some major form of recognition seems to have to mark a woman’s career for her to be able to go out on a limb without having her credentials questioned.
    Ruth Behar (b. 1956)
