Recent Years

In recent years, Diamond has teamed up with saxophonist Chris "Snake" Davis, who is known for his work with soul outfit, M People. The pair were known as The Blue Shoes, but more recently have been billed as Jim Diamond and Snake Davis.

In 2005, Diamond released his first studio album in eleven years. Souled and Healed also gave Diamond the single releases "When You Turn" and "Blue Shoes".

Diamond's son Lawrence has followed in his father's musical footsteps and is the bassist with the UK rock group, Official Secrets Act. The band signed a recording contract in 2008.

Jim Diamond’s latest album “City of Soul” released by Camino Records (catalogue number CAMCD40, release date 3 October 2011) features among others Wet Wet Wet drummer Tommy Cunningham and Greg Kane of Hue & Cry. All proceeds from this album of Soul covers benefit the children's charity Radio Clyde Cash For Kids.

Famous quotes containing the word years:

They will tell you tough stories of sharks all over the Cape, which I do not presume to doubt utterly,—how they will sometimes upset a boat, or tear it in pieces, to get at the man in it. I can easily believe in the undertow, but I have no doubt that one shark in a dozen years is enough to keep up the reputation of a beach a hundred miles long.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Peace can endure only so long as humanity really insists upon it, and is willing to work for it and sacrifice for it. Twenty- five years ago American fighting men looked to the statesmen of the world to finish the work of peace for which they fought and suffered; we failed them, we failed them then, we cannot fail them again and expect the world to survive again.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
