Jill Talley - Career

Career

In her twenties, Talley performed improv comedy in Chicago at the Improv Institute and The Second City. Talley and her husband, Tom Kenny, were both cast members of the cult short-lived FOX Network sketch comedy show The Edge from 1992 to 1993. They also appeared together in the 1996 Smashing Pumpkins video "Tonight, Tonight" as the married couple who take a honeymoon on the moon.

Talley's vocal work includes playing Karen, computer wife of Plankton on SpongeBob SquarePants, as well as Gretchen, the tomboyish alligator Squirrel Scout, the scholarly giraffe named Nina, and the largely angry warthog named Ms. Mucus on Camp Lazlo. She also voices Sarah Dubois on the Adult Swim show The Boondocks. She also voiced Lady Granite in the Plastic Man DC Nation Shorts.

Since Mr. Show's run she has also appeared in minor roles in several films such as Little Miss Sunshine and Sky High, in the latter of which she appeared with her husband.

Famous quotes containing the word career:

John Brown’s career for the last six weeks of his life was meteor-like, flashing through the darkness in which we live. I know of nothing so miraculous in our history.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The 19-year-old Diana ... decided to make her career that of wife. Today that can be a very, very iffy line of work.... And what sometimes happens to the women who pursue it is the best argument imaginable for teaching girls that they should always be able to take care of themselves.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

Like the old soldier of the ballad, I now close my military career and just fade away, an old soldier who tried to do his duty as God gave him the light to see that duty. Goodbye.
    Douglas MacArthur (1880–1964)
