Jesus Christians

Jesus Christians were a small radical Christian group that practiced communal living and distributed Bible-based comics and books.

The group was started in New South Wales, Australia, by Dave and Cherry McKay in 1975. It has operated under several different names, including Christians; The Medowie Christian Volunteers; and Voices in the Wilderness. The name 'Jesus Christians' was selected in 1996. ("A Change of Name", August, 1996)

In November 2010, the Jesus Christians "officially disbanded." However, Dave and Cherry McKay continue to manage a website called the "Jesus Christians."

Famous quotes containing the words jesus and/or christians:

A name? Oh, Jesus Christ. Ah, God, I’ve been called by a million names all my life. I don’t want a name. I’m better off with a grunt or a groan for a name.
    Bernardo Bertolucci (b. 1940)

The trouble with born-again Christians is that they are an even bigger pain the second time around.
    Herb Caen (b. 1916)
