Jerry married Jacqueline Bernice Mitchell on September 8, 1987. Jacqueline Rice filed for divorce in June 2007. The former couple were divorced late December 2009. They have three children together; Jaqui Bonet born on June 7, 1987, Jerry Rice, Jr. born on July 27th, 1991 and Jada Symone on May 16th, 1996. Jerry Jr., who attended high school at Menlo High School in Atherton, California, graduating in 2009. He currently attends UCLA and plays wide receiver for the Bruins.
