Jeremy Affeldt - Pitching Style

Pitching Style

Affeldt has three different kinds of pitches: a fastball, a curveball, and a sinker. His fastball travels in the nineties, and while his curveball is not as fast, it is also an effective pitch. Affeldt strikes out batters pretty consistently, but he can get in trouble when he starts walking batters. He is not always consistent, and that, coupled with his injury problems early on, led to his failure as a starter.

Famous quotes containing the word style:

The authoritarian child-rearing style so often found in working-class families stems in part from the fact that parents see around them so many young people whose lives are touched by the pain and delinquency that so often accompanies a life of poverty. Therefore, these parents live in fear for their children’s future—fear that they’ll lose control, that the children will wind up on the streets or, worse yet, in jail.
