The First Groups

Kali's musical career began in earnest when his father sent him to France in the early 70's to study music. The teenage Kali, heavily into percussion in the early days of his career, earnt valuable musical experience performing with several different groups before going on to form his own at the age of 19. Famous quotes containing the words the first and/or groups:

Two principles, according to the Settembrinian cosmogony, were in perpetual conflict for possession of the world: force and justice, tyranny and freedom, superstition and knowledge; the law of permanence and the law of change, of ceaseless fermentation issuing in progress. One might call the first the Asiatic, the second the European principle.
    Thomas Mann (1875–1955)

Some of the greatest and most lasting effects of genuine oratory have gone forth from secluded lecture desks into the hearts of quiet groups of students.
    Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924)
