Jayapura Bay Languages

The family of Jayapura Bay languages is a subgroup of the Sarmi – Jayapura Bay languages. It consists of 3 languages spoken in Papua province of Indonesia:

Kayupulau, Ormu, Tobati

Famous quotes containing the words bay and/or languages:

Three miles long and two streets wide, the town curls around the bay ... a gaudy run with Mediterranean splashes of color, crowded steep-pitched roofs, fishing piers and fishing boats whose stench of mackerel and gasoline is as aphrodisiac to the sensuous nose as the clean bar-whisky smell of a nightclub where call girls congregate.
    Norman Mailer (b. 1923)

The very natural tendency to use terms derived from traditional grammar like verb, noun, adjective, passive voice, in describing languages outside of Indo-European is fraught with grave possibilities of misunderstanding.
    Benjamin Lee Whorf (1897–1934)
