Jawahar Bharati Degree College, established in 1951,is in the town of Kavali in Nellore district of the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.
Jawahar Bharati is considered a premier institute and draws students from many towns in Nellore district. In 1951 it was started as Kavali college. An young graduate D. Ramachandra Reddy established this college, with a view to impart education to the poor and needed people of Kavali.This institute recently got 'A grade rating and Institute with potential for excellence' by NAAC peer commity (UGC, New Delhi) Many famous literary and political figures worked in this college. His work on heterologous DNA prime MVA boost approach is into Clinical trials in US and it is indeed one of the 5 HIV vaccine candidates entered into Clinical trials worldwide. Following his footsteps Dr. Venkateswarlu Chamcha, is again another flower of Jawahar Bharthi, working similar field in Emory Vaccine center in USA.
