Jason Orange - Personal Life

Personal Life

Born in Crumpsall in North Manchester, to now divorced parents, Orange has five brothers (including a twin brother), as well as three half-sisters.

Orange's family moved to the Wythenshawe area of South Manchester whilst he was a child. He attended Haveley Hey Primary School, and later attended South Manchester High School (which closed in August 1999) in the same district. He left school with no qualifications and went on a YTS scheme as an apprentice painter and decorator with Direct Works, the local council's repair and maintenance division.

As a youth, he was raised Mormon by his family, but they renounced the faith when he was a teenager. In an interview, Orange claimed that although he currently believes in God, "I'm still questioning religion."

Famous quotes containing the words personal life, personal and/or life:

A man lives not only his personal life, as an individual, but also, consciously or unconsciously, the life of his epoch and his contemporaries.
    Thomas Mann (1875–1955)

The secret point of money and power in America is neither the things that money can buy nor power for power’s sake ... but absolute personal freedom, mobility, privacy. It is the instinct which drove America to the Pacific, all through the nineteenth century, the desire to be able to find a restaurant open in case you want a sandwich, to be a free agent, live by one’s own rules.
    Joan Didion (b. 1934)

With liberty and pleasant weather, the simplest occupation, any unquestioned country mode of life which detains us in the open air, is alluring. The man who picks peas steadily for a living is more than respectable, he is even envied by his shop-worn neighbors. We are as happy as the birds when our Good Genius permits us to pursue any outdoor work, without a sense of dissipation.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
