During her teenage years, Colby was a hospital candy striper and Burger King cashier. Attending the University of Miami International School of Business at age 14, she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting as well as her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law at age 22. (B.B.A. ’80, J.D. ’83) Colby is also a former law professor, a member of University of Miami Law Review and has been a National Board member of American Women in Radio and Television.
Colby has authored a book "Back to Life After a Heart Crisis: A Doctor and His Wife Share Their 8-Step Cardiac Comeback Plan" with her ex-husband, Dr. Marc Wallack, who is Chief of Surgery at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City.
