Famous quotes containing the word death:
“A rat crept softly through the vegetation
Dragging its slimy belly on the bank
While I was fishing in the dull canal
On a winter evening round behind the gashouse
Musing upon the king my brothers wreck
And on the king my fathers death before him.”
—T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
“your antlers like seaweed,
your face like a wolfs death mask,
your mouth a virgin, your nose a nipple,
your legs muscled up like knitting balls,
your neck mournful as an axe....”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
“I just look at death as not a threat. Its inevitable, and I have an assurance of eternal life.”
