Jalkhanz Khutagt Sodnomyn Damdinbazar - Prime Minister

Prime Minister

In 1922 Dogsomyn Bodoo resigned as prime minister in the face of accusations that he conspired with reactionary enemies (including Ja Lama and the U.S. Consul in Kalgan) to overthrow the government. Soon afterwards he was executed. Looking to quell resulting religious anger (Bodoo was a lama) party leaders including Sükhbaatar invited Damdinbazar to become the next prime minister. Damdinbazar died a little more than 15 months later, on June 23, 1923.

Famous quotes related to prime minister:

Vanessa wanted to be a ballerina. Dad had such hopes for her.... Corin was the academically brilliant one, and a fencer of Olympic standard. Everything was expected of them, and they fulfilled all expectations. But I was the one of whom nothing was expected. I remember a game the three of us played. Vanessa was the President of the United States, Corin was the British Prime Minister—and I was the royal dog.
    Lynn Redgrave (b. 1943)

No woman in my time will be Prime Minister or Chancellor or Foreign Secretary—not the top jobs. Anyway I wouldn’t want to be Prime Minister. You have to give yourself 100%.
    Margaret Thatcher (b. 1925)

Being prime minister is a lonely job.... you cannot lead from the crowd.
    Margaret Thatcher (b. 1925)
