The Jaguar Advanced Lightweight Coupe Concept (which closely previewed the look of the Jaguar XK model) is a hatchback concept car the Premier Automotive Group produced under the Jaguar brand. Jaguar claims the Concept can reach sixty miles per hour in five seconds from a standstill, and that it has a top speed of one hundred sixty miles per hour. It débuted at the 2005 North American International Auto Show. In what columnists suggested was an ironic homage to great British sports cars of the past, the headlights refused to operate.
Famous quotes containing the words advanced and/or concept:
“Only conservatives believe that subversion is still being carried on in the arts and that society is being shaken by it.... Advanced art today is no longer a causeit contains no moral imperative. There is no virtue in clinging to principles and standards, no vice in selling or in selling out.”
—Harold Rosenberg (19061978)
“The new concept of the child as equal and the new integration of children into adult life has helped bring about a gradual but certain erosion of these boundaries that once separated the world of children from the word of adults, boundaries that allowed adults to treat children differently than they treated other adults because they understood that children are different.”
—Marie Winn (20th century)
