Controversy
A song titled "Harapan Bangsa" sang by Jac in 2007 for the churches in Sabah and Sarawak of Malaysia invited controversy amongst certain quarters of the Muslim community, which is predominantly Malay-speaking people, in the Peninsular Malaysia after a YouTube of the song was uploaded 5 years later.
Perkasa, a non-governmental Malay Supremacy organization which was formed in the aftermath of the Malaysian general elections in 2008, has called for a blanket boycott of Jac by Muslims nationwide over her song which it claims is an insult to Islam.
