Jackson's Theorem (queueing Theory) - Generalized Jackson Network

Generalized Jackson Network

In generalized Jackson network, arrival processes can be renewal process that is not Poisson, and i.i.d. service time that needs not follow exponential distribution. The stationary distribution of generalized Jackson network usually does not have an explicit analytical form.

Famous quotes containing the words generalized, jackson and/or network:

One is conscious of no brave and noble earnestness in it, of no generalized passion for intellectual and spiritual adventure, of no organized determination to think things out. What is there is a highly self-conscious and insipid correctness, a bloodless respectability submergence of matter in manner—in brief, what is there is the feeble, uninspiring quality of German painting and English music.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)

I am a Senator against my wishes and feelings, which I regret more than any other of my life.
    —Andrew Jackson (1767–1845)

A culture may be conceived as a network of beliefs and purposes in which any string in the net pulls and is pulled by the others, thus perpetually changing the configuration of the whole. If the cultural element called morals takes on a new shape, we must ask what other strings have pulled it out of line. It cannot be one solitary string, nor even the strings nearby, for the network is three-dimensional at least.
    Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)
