Jackson's Chameleon - in Captivity

In Captivity

These chameleons do make good pets, but only if taken care of correctly. They require high amounts of humidity, and are required to be in an all mesh screened cage like all chameleons. And are in general very needy of colder temperatures during the night. Too much heat, or an excessive amount of humidity, can cause eye infections and upper respiratory infections in these animals. In captivity, the Jackson's Chameleon can be expected to live somewhere between 5 and 10 years.

Famous quotes containing the word captivity:

    Had it pleased heaven
To try me with affliction, had they rained
All kind of sores and shames on my bare head,
Steeped me in poverty to the very lips,
Given to captivity me and my utmost hopes,
I should have found in some place of my soul
    A drop of patience.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
