Jackie Stallone - Early Life

Early Life

Stallone was born Jacqueline M. Labofish in Washington, D.C., United States, the daughter of a French socialite, Jeanne Victoria Anne "Adrienne" (née Clerec), and a prominent attorney, John Labofish. Her paternal grandparents, Rose (née Lamlec) and Charles Labofisz, were Jewish immigrants from Odessa, in the Russian Empire (in present-day Ukraine). Her mother was born in Brest (Brittany) in 1901. During her youth, Stallone was a trapeze artist in a circus and a chorus girl in a nightclub. She was also a hairdresser. Stallone lived a relatively quiet life for most of her years. Even after Sylvester starred in the film Rocky in 1976 she remained unknown to the general public.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:

In the true sense one’s native land, with its background of tradition, early impressions, reminiscences and other things dear to one, is not enough to make sensitive human beings feel at home.
    Emma Goldman (1869–1940)

On the farm I had learned how to meet realities without suffering either mentally or physically. My initiative had never been blunted. I had freedom to succeed—freedom to fail. Life on the farm produces a kind of toughness.
    Bertha Van Hoosen (1863–1952)
