Recognition of Achievements
To celebrate Allchurch's achievements for his local club, it was originally decided that money should be raised for a bust of him, which was raised by Swansea City supporters.
There is now a statue in honour of him outside Swansea City's Liberty Stadium. His brother, Len, was also a footballer.
In 1966, he was awarded an MBE in recognition of his services to football. He is also a member of the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame.

“Democracy and equality try to deny ... the mystic recognition of difference and innate priority, the joy of obedience and the sacred responsibility of authority.”

“Freedom of enterprise was from the beginning not altogether a blessing. As the liberty to work or to starve, it spelled toil, insecurity, and fear for the vast majority of the population. If the individual were no longer compelled to prove himself on the market, as a free economic subject, the disappearance of this freedom would be one of the greatest achievements of civilization.”
—Herbert Marcuse (18981979)
