Famous quotes containing the words all, over and/or now:

    Everything
Would have been different. For it would have been
Another world.’ ‘Ay, and a better, though
If we could see all all might seem good.’
    Edward Thomas (1878–1917)

There is a rhythm to the ending of a marriage just like the rhythm of a courtship—only backward. You try to start again but get into blaming over and over. Finally you are both worn out, exhausted, hopeless. Then lawyers are called in to pick clean the corpses. The death has occurred much earlier.
    Erica Jong (b. 1942)

Long ago was the then beginning to seem like now
As now is but the setting out on a new but still
    Undefined way.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)
