Israel Eldad

Israel Eldad (Hebrew: ישראל אלדד) (11 November 1910 – 22 January 1996), was an Israeli independence fighter and Revisionist Zionist philosopher. He was the chief ideologue of the Lehi, a militant Jewish paramilitary group also known as the Stern Gang. Eldad under conspiratorial name "Scheib" along with other two men, namely Natan Yellin-Mor a.k.a. "Nathan Friedmann" and Yitzhak Shamir a.k.a. "Yitzhak Yezernitsky" (who was later to become Prime Minister of Israel), was responsible for the decision to assassinate Folke Bernadotte, Swedish diplomat who was appointed by UN as mediator, in Jerusalem in 1948.
