Isobel Anderson is a fictional character in the Scottish BBC drama TV series Monarch of the Glen. Isobel is played by Scottish actress Simone Lahbib.
Isobel arrived in Glenbogle to take over her grandmother's farm. She did, but Laird Paul Bowman decided to lease it to Sheriff Joe Reavey if Isobel could not find proper tenants for the farm within a week. Joe did what he could to ruin the farm so Isobel could not find tenants, like cutting down all the trees and knocking down the sheds etc. Joe was arrested and Isobel got her farm back. Paul started to take a fancy to Isobel, and vice-versa. They kissed, but along came millionaire Chester Grant and his PA Lucy Ford and Paul and Isobel's relationship was scuppered. Paul got together with Lucy, and Chester took a fancy to Isobel. Isobel never actually got together with Chester, but they did go to restaurants together. When Paul and Lucy split up, Isobel and Paul presumably got together, as Paul chased the laughing Isobel round the Glenbogle estate.
Isobel didn't feature in series seven as Simone Lahbib was pregnant at the time, and Isobel disappeared from the show without any explanation.

Famous quotes containing the word anderson:
“I am willing, for a money consideration, to test this physical strength, this nervous force, and muscular power with which Ive been gifted, to show that they will bear a certain strain. If I break down, if my brain gives way under want of sleep, my heart ceases to respond to the calls made on my circulatory system, or the surcharged veins of my extremities burstif, in short, I fall helpless, or it may be, dead on the track, then I lose my money.”
—Ada Anderson (1860?)
