Five Pillars of Islam

The Day of Judgment or Resurrection, al-Qiyāmah, is a basic tenet of Islam as one of its six articles of faith. The tribulation associated with it is described in the Qur'an and hadith, and commentaries of Islamic expositors like as al-Ghazali, Ibn Kathir, Ibn Majah, al-Bukhari, and Ibn Khuzaymah. The Day of Judgment is also known as the Day of Reckoning, the Hour, and the Last Day.

Famous quotes containing the words pillars and/or islam:

Agriculture, manufactures, commerce, and navigation, the four pillars of our prosperity, are then most thriving when left most free to individual enterprise. Protection from casual embarrassments, however, may sometimes be seasonably interposed.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

Bernard Lewis, U.S. Middle Eastern specialist. Islam and the West, ch. 8, Oxford University Press (1993)
