Isla Traquair - Television Career

Television Career

Isla joined Grampian Television (now STV North) in early 2001 as a reporter, presenter and production journalist for North Tonight, Grampian Headlines, Grampian News and North Today.

Traquair was one of the producers of the STV crime series, Unsolved. She also hosted an update programme at the end of later series.

Traquair left STV for ITV News in November 2006, reportedly after her application for a two-month secondment to ITN had been blocked by her bosses.

Famous quotes containing the words television and/or career:

It is marvelous indeed to watch on television the rings of Saturn close; and to speculate on what we may yet find at galaxy’s edge. But in the process, we have lost the human element; not to mention the high hope of those quaint days when flight would create “one world.” Instead of one world, we have “star wars,” and a future in which dumb dented human toys will drift mindlessly about the cosmos long after our small planet’s dead.
    Gore Vidal (b. 1925)

Whether lawyer, politician or executive, the American who knows what’s good for his career seeks an institutional rather than an individual identity. He becomes the man from NBC or IBM. The institutional imprint furnishes him with pension, meaning, proofs of existence. A man without a company name is a man without a country.
    Lewis H. Lapham (b. 1935)
