Irene Stuart is a fictional character in the Scottish BBC drama TV series Monarch of the Glen. Irene is played by actress Rebecca Lacey.
Irene comes to Glenbogle to be Head Chef, and she soon has admirers in ghillie Golly Mackenzie and Head Ranger Duncan McKay. Golly tries to impress Irene by buying a car, motorbike, cool clothes, going to barn dances, etc., making Duncan feel rejected. However Duncan accidentally goes on a date with Irene, and she takes a shine to him. She reveals her love for him, and vice-versa. Golly unhappily discovers them kissing on a hill. Irene becomes pregnant with her ex-boyfriend's child, and leaves Glenbogle and a heartbroken Duncan.
