Home Stadium

Iran plays the home games at the Azadi (Freedom) Stadium with a maximum attendance of 90.000 spectators; the stadium was built in 1973 with a capacity of over 100,000. A record was set in Azadi for the 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign in Iran's home match against Japan, in which the whole stadium was filled.
